WEEK OF SCILENCE!!!When Joe speaks, people listen. Twenty-one year old Joe Opatowski travels across North America speaking to high school students about what life is like in other parts of the world. It’s shocking, and it’s real. Meanwhile two high school seniors in BC vow to stay quiet after they hear Joe speak. He inspired them to really think about their words - as they embark on a week long Silent Vigil in a symbolic stand for the voiceless children around the world. Joe’s life took a dramatic turn – but bottom line – he spoke and people listened. Sometimes that's all it takes.
"now its our turn! we want to take a vow of scilence for a week, music is aloud, watching news is aloud, and for you guys buzznet will be aloud, but im not using cellphones or email, or facebook! i hope i can get as many people to do this with me as possible! for the love of our planet, we need to bring to everyones attention that there are things going wrong in this world! i will stop talking to show the pain and aggriviation that others feel! not just in other countries like africa, but also in our ouwn loving utopia of CANADA. an amazing country but many are stuck not talking, not having their own voice! check out Joe. his speaches were amazing if your with me, speak up and let me know! not only will you be commited to a great cause, but ur name may go in our local paper. i dont ask for money, just support. itll be hard but ill do it! and with support itll get easier! <3 to all... ~amber pahl~"
